McLane Stadium Named Finalist for Architizer A+ Award

March 17, 2015

Baylor University’s McLane Stadium, designed by Populous, has been named as one of five finalists in the typology category for sports and recreation: stadium / arena for the 2015 Architizer A+ Awards. The $266 million stadium located off the Brazos River in Waco, Texas, has created a new front door for the university and city since opening in August 2014, extending the campus footprint and aiding in the redevelopment of the region.

The Architizer A+ Jury Award will be selected by a pre-selected jury, but McLane Stadium is also eligible for the Architizer A+ Popular Choice Award, which will be selected by a public vote. We’d encourage you to visit awards.architizer.com/vote/ and vote for McLane Stadium for the popular choice award. Voting began on March 17th and will continue through April 3rd. Winners will be announced on April 14th. Entries were received from more than 100 countries into the architectural award program that recognizes excellence in a variety of industries, and only five entries in each category have been named finalists.
