Project continues Populous’ relationship with Mizzou Football

Populous will lead the design of the new south end zone at Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field for the University of Missouri. The project will include a four-story football team facility and new premium seating opportunities for Tiger football fans.

“We are looking forward to working with the Populous team as we design a facility that will be one of the best in the country,” said Barry Odom, Mizzou head football coach.

mizzou_football_logoMizzou Director of Athletics Jim Sterk also added, “We are grateful the board of curators has approved the selection of one of the world’s premier architectural firms to transform Memorial Stadium’s south end zone for the long-term benefit of Mizzou Football.”

Opened in 1925, Memorial Stadium has expanded to nearly triple its original capacity of 25,000. Populous has previously collaborated with Mizzou Athletics on the east side seating expansion of Memorial Stadium, football training facility renovations and Mizzou Arena.

“We’re pleased to continue our relationship with the University of Missouri Athletics team through this new expansion of Memorial Stadium,” said Scott Radecic, senior principal at Populous. “The new end zone will elevate the game day experience for fans and players alike and give the Tigers a seat at the head of the recruiting table.”
