Caroline joined Populous in 2000 after working for RMJM and Terry Farrell in Hong Kong on a variety of residential developments, utilities and transportation projects. She embarked on the Emirates Stadium where she was involved from earliest stages to almost completion of the project. This involved the design of Stage C submissions to the client, through both planning applications, tender and construction information and on site architect. She tackled diverse responsibilities from space planning and design to package leader and site architect.

Caroline became involved in other projects during that period. Experience within the Wembley Stadium team included the roof and bowl packages and safely submissions to the Local Authority. Sky Venture Milton Keynes was a more unusual project as it involved the design of the first indoor sky-diving facility in the UK. She was responsible for design and production of planning drawings and co-ordination with all consultants and in particular the specific sky-diving requirements.

Following the completion of the Emirates Stadium she worked on the design of the O2 Arena in Dublin, coordinating the detailed design for construction information, and the development of the design for a multi sports stadium in Northern Ireland intended to accommodate such diverse sports as soccer, rugby and hurling.

Caroline was also responsible for the interior design and fit-out of a fast track project to improve the facilities at Zayed Sports City Stadium in the United Arab Emirates for the FIFA Club World Cup 2009-2010. She presented and developed the concept with the client to develop the design into the production of tender and construction information and followed through the execution with the contractor on site.

She has spent time working on the temporary overlay works for the Olympic Games in London, focusing on tennis event at Wimbledon which gave her the chance to learn about a different sport and its specific requirements.

Currently she has been involved in the delivery of the Leeds Arena project from tender stage to on site delivery, and has been enjoying the challenges of an arena project in an urban location.

Caroline enjoys working with a strong team from the core Populous staff to the other consultants we work with. She relishes challenging and varied projects that work within the public realm and are used and enjoyed by all. She believes that by offering quality we can improve the design of public entertainment and sporting venues to a new level.

She also has developed a personal interest in sustainability and the Interior architecture of buildings and in previous projects she has developed skills in addressing accessibility issues through design.
