Declan is a creative and forward thinking architect. Throughout his time studying he developed a wide knowledge of theory, design and architecture and graduated with a First Class Honours Degree. Declan later completed a Master’s Degree in Architecture, graduating with a Distinction. Declan received numerous scholarships for his academic achievements whilst at University.

Prior to joining Populous, Declan spent four years with Foster + Partners, working on a number of high profile projects, including the sensitive refurbishment of the Pushkin State Museum in Moscow and the Almaty Financial District in Kazakhstan, a mixed use development of approximately 300,000sqm. He also worked on several UK projects during their construction phases, including the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking and the Langley Academy in Slough, UK. He was involved in all aspects of these projects including client liaison, design, planning, tender and the construction process.

Since joining Populous in 2010, Declan has worked on a diverse portfolio of innovative projects around the world, including new performance venues in Copenhagen, Madrid and Nanjing and large sports masterplans in the UK, India, China and the Middle East. Declan also worked in collaboration with IMG/Reliance on a series of projects in India, where he audited all of the major soccer and basketball venues located throughout India.

Declan is currently working as Project Leader on the new Queens Park Rangers FC (QPR) stadium in the Old Oak area of West London. The stadium project will be the catalyst for the regeneration of a forgotten area – ultimately bringing new transport, 24,000 homes and at least 50,000 jobs. Declan is also working as Project Leader on a new Training Centre and Community Sports Hub for QPR in London. The Training Campus will establish a new typology with professional sports sitting alongside an amateur development academy and community sports facility.
