As the Korea Representative for Populous, Joo Young is involved in the marketing and business development for Korea and is also design architect for the projects in the Asia region.

He is a highly skilled architect and designer with a strong understanding of engineering solutions.

Joo Young joined Populous in 2005, and since this time has been instrumental in developing Populous’ presence in Korea. Populous’ first project in Korea was the design for the main stadium for the Incheon 2014 Asian Games. Joo Young was the Project Co-ordinator for the Incheon Stadium, working in a liaison role between client and the design team, both in Australia and in Korea. Joo Young also designed the park landscaping and the bridge which connects the stadium to the park. The Incheon Stadium is a great example of sustainable design. The stadiumhad a capacity of 60,000 during the Games and will reduce to 30,000 to provide a People’s Park for the community of Incheon.

Amongst other projects, Joo Young also played a major role in completing the 8,000 capacity arena design for the Datong Sports Park in China, and also completed the design for the plaza and retail component of the Taipei Dome in Taiwan. Joo Young was also project architect for Zhuhai Tennis Centre, and international standard tennis facility in China. He was the main architect working on the designs for the the buildings, landscape and masterplan. Joo Young was also the design architect for the NC Dinos baseball stadium competition which Populous won.
