Marian received his degree in engineering at the Slovak Technical University. He then continued his studies at the Slovak Academy of Fine Arts and obtained a Master’s Degree in Architecture. These qualifications have given him a strong technical understanding, as well as an artistic flair and, combined, these skills allow him to approach a project from a uniquely creative perspective. His final thesis received the prize for best diploma project in Slovakia and was published in several international magazines.

From 2003 he was employed at a small architectural practice in Bratislava, where he worked through all project stages, from the initial sketches and surveying of the site, to precise and detailed documentation. His ideas and the style of his graphic presentations contributed to the practice gaining some new contracts.

In 2007 he joined Foster and Partners as an architectural assistant in Dublin. He was involved in the design of the U2 tower and other high profile projects in Ireland. During this time his role progressed from architectural assistant to project leader.

In 2009, Marian joined a team working in Geneva on The Qatar National Museum project designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel. He was fully in charge of the glazed facade work package and helped to complete the tender documentation using Digital Project as a BIM tool.

After completing his work in Switzerland, Marian re-joined Foster and Partners as a qualified architect in London. He mostly participated in the Apple Campus 2 project. As Package Architect, he was responsible for the wet services areas, 3D development and structure coordination. His role included client, contractor, and consultant liaison, and bespoke product design with various manufacturers.

Marian joined Populous in 2013. He worked as an Area Lead Architect in London on the Olympic Stadium Transformation project, in charge of the southern area, which includes the Ticket Office and Shop for West Ham United, the Community Track Clubhouse and Concessionaire Lease Areas. He was responsible for tender and construction packages, helping to bring the project through the advanced design stages up to completion. His role includes client, contractor, and consultant liaison, design development, and team leading on site.

Marian is currently working on the design for Bristol Arena, due to complete in 2018.

Marian played semi-professional basketball for 12 years. He represented his country at the Adidas Street-Basketball Challenge in Budapest in 1996. His interest in the sporting world and his active sport experience give him an insider’s view into the design of sports venues.
