Mark brings nearly 20 years of college athletics administration and donor relations experience to his role at Populous. As the director of business development, he ensures the firm cultivates mutually-beneficial relationships that leave lasting legacies.

His people-centric approach epitomizes the Populous brand and has resulted in a strong foundation of relationships with university staff and supporters across the United States. The secret to that success lies in a willingness to listen. Mark listens and aligns the passions of clients and donors alike with their larger interest groups.

Throughout each stop in his career, Mark has contributed to the external relation functions of college athletics departments, collaborating with the areas of corporate sponsorship, marketing, ticketing, licensing and fan experience. He consistently boosted donor fundraising in both annual and major gift campaigns while participating in athletics department strategic planning efforts.

Mark has worked at premiere Division I schools spanning both coasts, from the Huskies of Washington to the Nittany Lions of Penn State. Most recently, as associate vice president of development at the University of South Florida, he was responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Bulls Club and led campaign planning efforts for the department’s endowment, tennis facility, baseball/softball clubhouse and academic center initiatives.

Mark holds master’s degrees in business administration and sports administration from Ohio University as well as a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Washington.
