Populous Certified as a Healthy KC Company for Third Consecutive Year

The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce named Populous to its list of Certified Healthy KC Companies for the third consecutive year. The firm was awarded a silver ranking on behalf of its commitment to wellness in the workplace through healthy food options, an on-site gym and abundant health and wellness programs. In offering health and wellbeing services to its staff, Populous aims to influence the broader community and make Kansas City a pillar of healthy living.

“Providing access to health and wellness programs is a reflection of Populous’ core values, to make our workplace a happy and healthy environment for all employees. Through partnerships with health and welfare organizations, we explore and offer opportunities to our staff that support their health and wellbeing inside and outside the office,” said Missy Ragsdale, Populous Americas’ Human Resources Director.

Healthy KC is an initiative launched by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, in collaboration with more than 100 area health and wellness organizations, businesses, government, and other sectors.

The certification is based on five “pillars” of health: nutrition, physical activity, tobacco cessation, design/built environment and work/life integration. There are five levels of certification, based on a company’s level of achievement across the five pillars – Platinum Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Honorable Mention.
