Business Secretary Vince Cable and Populous on Trade Mission to Russia

Vince Cable today urged British firms to use the 2018 World Cup as an opportunity to start trading with Russia.

The Business Secretary, leading a two-day delegation to Moscow, said UK involvement in the forthcoming Winter Olympics in Sochi showed what could be done. The main stadium in Sochi has been designed by Populous architects, also known for London’s Olympic stadium, Wembley and Arsenal’s Emirates stadium.

Speaking to the Standard, Mr Cable said the World Cup offered the chance for British firms to use their expertise from the 2012 Games to win contracts.
