Pensacola Bayfront Stadium to Receive Ballpark of the Year Award

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos will receive the BaseballParks.com Award for 2012 Ballpark of the Year, on behalf of the City of Pensacola and the Community Maritime Park Associates, on Monday, April 15^th. Pensacola Bayfront Stadium was designed by Populous and opened in April of 2012 to national praise. The award will be presented during the evening game on Monday by Joe Mock of BaseballParks.com. Mayor Ashton Hayward and Collier Merrill, of the Community Maritime Park Associates, will be there to accept the award.  Joe Mock noted that, “New parks are usually appreciated by the local residents but I’ve never seen a park have such a huge impact on its market. You can just feel the pride that Pensacola residents have about their fantastic new facility. What a success story this is.”
