Alex Ogata

Alex leads a team of designers tasked with fostering innovation and pushing the boundaries of what is possible. From aviation to event design, the studio collaborates with all parts of the practice via conceptual design, research and technology. The approach mirrors Alex’s experience designing abroad in Peru, Italy and France and working domestically on projects like the Kansas City Convention Center Grand Ballroom, the air traffic control tower at San Francisco International Airport and the new Milwaukee Bucks NBA arena.

Alex formerly led the sports design program at the University of Kansas School of Design and is active in a number of organizations. He’s served on the AIA Kansas City board of directors, Kansas City Mayor Sly James’s Challenge Cabinet and as chair of Kansas City Design week. He’s also a graduate of the AIA Pillars program and the KC Chamber of Commerce Centurions program.
