Stadiums Past and Future: New Exhibition Opens at the Olympic Museum

October 27, 2016

The International Olympic Committee’s latest exhibition, entitled “Stadiums Past and Future”, is now open to the public at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Curated by Populous Senior Adviser Geraint John, Honorary Life President of the International Union of Architects and recipient of the IOC’s Pierre de Coubertin Medal in 2014, the display seeks to explore the identity, history, and potential future opportunities for these global sporting venues.

Professor John said, “This exhibition takes the viewer from the Olympic Stadium’s beginnings, through their history, and into the future. Stadiums are amongst the most important buildings in cities. They are the centrepieces of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and must be a vital legacy for the community, rejuvenating the city.”

The exhibition is open until 7 May 2017. Read more here.
