David Johnston
David is a Principal, Senior Architect at Populous and has been involved in the delivery of a number of sports stadia, commercial, and multi-residential projects throughout his architectural career.
David joined Populous in 2000, working on the redevelopment of Suncorp Stadium at Lang Park and later on the design of the new CBUS Super Stadium on the Gold Coast. Both projects have won multiple design awards and have been recognised by the Australian Institute of Architects – CBUS Super Stadium was announced Public Building of the Year – Gold Coast, by the AIA in 2009. Prior to joining Populous, David has worked for a number of architectural practices in Brisbane and Sydney, and has worked on project such as the Qantas Sydney Domestic Terminal expansion and the Grey Street (Mantra) Hotel and Apartments at South Bank.
David has specific expertise in project delivery and management. His attention to detail is an important part of his success in transforming an idea into a built form.
