Two Populous Projects Named as Finalists for Sports Business Journal Facility of the Year

Two Populous-designed facilities are among the four finalists for Sports Business Journal’s 2012 Facility of the Year. The award is given to new, renovated or established sports facilities in North America whose primary function is hosting and staging sporting events. Among four total projects, the two Populous projects include:

  • Amway Center, home of the NBA Orlando Magic, which served as host to the 2012 NBA All-Star Game and has
    swiftly helped the revitalization efforts of downtown Orlando; and
  • Sporting Park, a new soccer-specific home of the MLS Sporting Kansas City, brings fan and brand experiences to the next level.

The Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans and Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, spring training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, were also named as award finalists. Additional information is available here.

Launched in 2008, the Sports Business Awards were established by Sports Business Journal and Sports Business Daily to celebrate and recognize the leaders, visionaries and day-to-day practitioners who personify excellence in the business of sports.
