Northridge Recreation Center

The Northridge Recreation Center in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, opened in 1982. As the oldest of the community’s four centers, it was overdue for a refresh. Populous was engaged to carry out a $3.8 million renovation of the facility, expanding it to 62,600 square feet, including a brand-new 1,000-square-foot lobby.

The new lobby improves traffic flow from the parking lot, and the additional space makes room for amenities found only at Northridge, including martial arts and hot yoga studios, as well as a state-of-the-art golf simulator. Golfers can hit the links at almost 100 internationally famous courses, and the immersive experience lets sports lovers play football, soccer, baseball, hockey and more.

The expansion and improvement of Northridge were carried out as part of Highlands Ranch’s overall master plan. As the largest unincorporated community in the state, the Highlands Ranch Community Association’s centers total almost 330,000 square feet of meeting spaces, activities and sports facilities for its vibrant, active community. Each center is within easy driving distance of the others and offers its own unique range of amenities. Now, the reimagined Northridge facility gives residents even more options and opportunities for fun, fitness and connection.
