Penrith Stadium

In addition to supporting the growing population of Western Sydney, the redevelopment of Penrith Stadium will draw visitors from far and wide, expanding the experience of sporting events, live music, and entertainment.

The stadium will be the home of the current four-time NRL (National Rugby League) premiership champions, the Penrith Panthers. The proposed design for the stadium reflects feedback from over 3,000 fans, families, and community members – featuring a family-friendly design that honors the stadium’s history and significance to the local community.

The project aims to:

→ Redevelop the stadium for the Penrith community, including its athletes, performers, and residents

→ Increase the use of the area through shared amenities and facilities

→ Create a venue that will promote and support the continued growth of sports within the community

→ Provide an exceptional visitor experience for sporting events, concerts, and conferences.

As part of the upgrade, the stadium’s capacity will be increased to about 25,000, with an additional 5,000 seats for hosting up to 10 concerts a year.

This is a much-needed upgrade, the local community and fans have been integral in shaping the new stadium, and we are delivering what they want, including retaining the hills at either end of the stadium, and modernising amenities and seating.

The stadium will feature upgraded player amenities, including new female-friendly facilities to support the growth of women’s sports. As part of the enhanced experience, there will be a 300% increase in wheelchair-accessible seating, an 85% increase in accessible restrooms, and a significant rise in the number of women’s bathrooms.

Additionally, the training field to the west of the stadium will be redesigned to create new high-quality open spaces with multipurpose courts and improved landscaping, providing more shade for outdoor entertainment and community use.

The stadium is specifically designed to host both women’s and men’s NRL games, as well as rugby union, soccer, live music, and other entertainment events.
