Jim Swords
Jim has played an integral part in the design of extraordinary arena projects, specializing in collegiate and mid-sized arenas. Throughout his decades at Populous, he has led arena project teams in making unique concept designs and turning them into a reality. His arena projects include the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana; Amsoil Arena in Duluth, Minnesota; CFE Arena at the University of Central Florida and Covelli Arena at Ohio State University.
Jim is passionate about the design of multipurpose arenas. Almost all of the arenas he has experience with are meant to be used for multiple occasions, meaning his designs must be flexible and sustainable. Jim believes in a collaborative approach by gathering input from others and valuing their viewpoints. He frequently works with local architectural firms and consultant teams, is readily approachable and is effective in working with multiple project stakeholders.
