Kelly Holton
As Kelly balances dual roles as Brand Activation Director and member of the firm’s Americas Regional Board, she thrives at the intersection of intense curiosity, creativity and strategic thinking. Guided by Kelly’s leadership, Populous’ Brand Activation team designs story–driven experiences that spark emotional reactions, drive consumer behavior and create memories that transform events into bucket-list moments.
Kelly and her team can effectively drive consumer behavior because Kelly brings an innate understanding of that behavior to all of her work. That insight powers the creation of unmissable experiences that authentically resonate with attendees while also opening new pathways for revenue generation, a balance that requires nuance and intention.
Kelly’s instinctual grasp on how to encourage brands to stretch and explore new realms is a key part of her work. She guides clients through a reimagining of how people engage with venues and how those experiences can tell meaningful stories. The result: experiences that build emotional connections to place while simultaneously delivering measurable outcomes for clients.
Under Kelly’s direction, Brand Activation team members are, first and foremost, storytellers. They continually refine how experiences are conceived and delivered, always asking how a space can do something it has never done before. That mindset applies across stadiums, arenas, collegiate venues and convention centers, supporting work at Populous firmwide. Notable project examples include Climate Pledge Arena, Wrigley Field, Highmark Stadium and the KC2026 FIFA Fan Festival™.
Kelly’s role since joining Populous has evolved significantly but is shaped by an unwavering focus on how people experience place. With a background in cultural exhibit design, Kelly has channeled that expertise into a broader focus on shaping holistic experiences that connect culture, environment and emotion for fans. She has a genuine knack for understanding people, the region and the broader context of each venue to help create moments that drive impact.
The strength and impact of Kelly’s work has earned her a variety of awards and recognition. Most recently, Ingram’s named Kelly to its 2026 Class of Women Executives – Kansas City, spotlighting several women executives driving growth throughout the region and beyond.
