The Populous designed Christchurch Stadium, built two years ago this month, as a temporary stadium after two earthquakes devastated the New Zealand city, is punching above its weight, despite  a further natural disaster to hit in the city – this time flooding. The 18,000 seat temporary stadium which was constructed in less than 100 days and cost NZ$30M, has been given the thumbs up by football authorities ahead of next year’s  FIFA under-20 World Cup.
