The University of South Florida engaged the design-build team of Populous and R.R. Simmons to design and construct a new complex of athletic facilities that would dramatically enhance the athletic precinct of campus. The new facilities included a new basketball practice facility, new ballparks for baseball and softball and a new outdoor field practice complex for the USF football program. The new ballpark is located immediately adjacent to the softball facilities, resulting in shared amenities and concourse spaces designed to maximize construction dollars and available space on site. The baseball stadium seats 1,500 and is expandable to accommodate 3,500 spectators.
