Huw joined Populous in early 2003, having previously worked extensively on the design of health clubs and sports related buildings. On joining Populous he worked on the state of the art 23,000 capacity O2 Arena in Greenwich, from the concept through to practical completion. He was responsible for the technical design of the sports architecture, with specialised knowledge of designing seating bowls, spectator facilities and the operations of multi-functional sports and entertainment venues.

Huw also worked on the early concept design, bowl design and planning application for the new 30,000 seat MK Dons Stadium in Milton Keynes, the development of new Training facilities for Real Madrid CF and the 18,000 capacity multi-functional arena and entertainment district in Abu Dhabi.

Recently he has been responsible for the bowl design and sports architecture for the new 60,000 seat football stadium for Olympique Lyonnais in Lyon, France, during which he reviewed and incorporated the requirements for the UEFA 2016 European Championships bid, looking at both permanent and overlay solutions.

Huw currently sits on the Populous Technical Review Committee with expertise in spectator facilities and bowl design of arenas and stadia.
