Populous Opens Third Office in Texas with New Austin Location

Global design firm Populous, renowned for designing the world’s most iconic venues and experiences that draw people together, is opening its newest office space in Austin, Texas. Located north of downtown Austin, the office officially opened its doors Monday, January 12.

This marks Populous’ third Texas office opening in the past decade, joining Dallas and Houston, underscoring the firm’s commitment to growth and connectivity across the Lone Star State. The Austin office reflects the company’s commitment to serving the thriving Central Texas community and tapping into the region’s exceptional talent pool of architects and designers.

The new office reinforces Populous’ presence in Central Texas, a region defined by dynamic growth and cultural vibrancy. By establishing a local base in Austin, Populous will deepen its relationships with clients and partners throughout the region, one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country. This additional office builds on Populous’ long-standing work in Austin, including projects such as the South Terminal at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (completed in 2017) and the South End Zone at Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium (completed in 2021).

Current Populous projects in the region include an expansion of the Barbara Jordan Terminal at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (to be completed in 2030), a new ballpark for the San Antonio Missions (to be completed in 2028), and Project Marvel (phase completion dates TBD), a new downtown San Antonio mixed-use development. Previously, Populous worked on Baylor University’s McLane Stadium (completed in 2014), the Alamodome (completed in 1993) and the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center (completed in 2016).

Over the last eight years, Populous has doubled its total number of office locations across the Americas. With this new office, Populous now has 15 offices in the Americas and 34 offices worldwide.
