As the lead interior designer and retail planner for the airport, Populous brought its world-leading aviation and design experience to the new passenger terminal located in the Pampanga region of the Philippines.

Opened in 2021, Clark International Airport was designed as an innovative solution that was functional, experiential and authentic.

Populous principal and lead architect on the project Ben Dawson said the global recognition is a testament to the great effort by the entire team and a visionary client.

“At the heart of the interior design was an emphasis on both the passenger experience and a desire for the material palette to reflect a sense of place.

“Wherever possible, we used locally sourced materials which reflected the surrounding environment. As the project was delivered through the pandemic, this emphasis on Philippines sourced and sustainable materials proved invaluable to deliver during that challenging period.
