Shaun Gallagher

Senior Principal, Architect / Brisbane

Shaun is a Senior Principal Architect of Populous and on the Regional Board of the Asian Pacific office.

He is an architect with 30 years experience, and highly developed project management skills. Shaun has a particular interest in planning for the legacy of major events, stadia developments and racecourses. He has spent some time in Korea, working on the legacy elements of the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon.

On Australian projects, Shaun was involved in the 25 year vision Masterplan for ANZ Stadium and Sydney Olympic Park and advising Moonee Valley Racing Club in Melbourne. He was also project architect for the Queensland State Tennis Centre and had a major involvement at Suncorp Stadium redevelopment.

Outside of Australia, Shaun has worked on the London 2012 Olympic bid team, and the Review of the Beijing National Stadium for the 2008 Olympic games as well as the benchmarking and masterplanning studies for Beijing, and Overlay planning for the Sydney 2000 Olympics Games. He also worked on the Brother Fortune Equestrian Park in Inner Mongolia.

Most recently, Shaun managed the design team for Papua New Guinea’s National Football Stadium, completed in early 2016, and is currently managing the team working on Eagle Farm Racecourse’s Infield Stable and Entrance Precinct.
