Populous Partners with Nienkamper and Bright to Launch New Products at NeoCon 2019

Populous continues to draw people together for unforgettable experiences by designing unique hospitality environments and solutions for the world’s most iconic sports, civic, and entertainment venues. Most of the time, this design expertise is used to help find the best solution to meet Populous’ clients’ needs. However, design thinking is only as good as the products at the team’s disposal, so if the right product doesn’t exist, the Populous product design studio works with its partners to create it. Most recently, partnerships with Nienkamper and Bright Furniture resulted in the launch of two new product collections to fulfill specific needs in the hospitality industry yet are easily translated for use in an office or household space.
“Through collaboration, our product design studio is able to bring new innovative products to life that fulfill specific needs we’ve uncovered in hospitality spaces,” said Populous Product Development Director and Principal, Adam Stover. “High-end products meant for functionality, luxury and adaptability is where we set our standards for product design and we’re proud to deliver just that with our two latest collections.”
Debuted at NeoCon 2019 this week in Chicago, Nienkamper’s Persona collection was inspired to be versatile. It features functional casegood pieces with unique detailing that can meet the needs of the space whether that’s an office, boardroom or a luxury suite. Bright’s Canyon collection, featuring a lounge chair and sofa, is sleek, modern and functional with the flexibility to be used in a household, office or premium club space and is optimal for hospitality use.
Both collections inspire a new standard for hospitality design, while also integrating Nienkamper and Bright’s signature styles. Read on to learn more about the two new collections.
Persona
Layered hospitality, a casegood collection created to fit any design identity.
Commercial workplaces and hospitality design are on a collision course as spaces are becoming more inviting and tailored to individual need. The Persona collection for Nienkamper bridges this gap by introducing an unexpected, layered approach into a traditionally monolithic casegood market.
Inspired by beautifully intricate and carefully displayed mechanical movements in luxury timepieces, Persona’s storage is tucked behind customizable panels wrapped in a delicate metal housing. The simple kit of parts and wide range of finish options allow the collection to fit any design aesthetic from executive boardrooms to tech company open offices. An abundance of attractive, functional components is offered including integrated lighting, accessory rails, tack-able panels and magnetic, writeable glass surfaces. As a result of this level of adaptability and thoughtful detailing, Persona storage can be used in spaces typically reserved for custom millwork, such as suites or cafes.
Canyon
A warm and inviting lounge collection with an elevated presence.
Inspired by stratification and smoothly eroded surfaces found in nature, Bright’s Canyon collection is characterized by its distinctive base and sculpted cushions. The continuous integral seat cushion and bolsters provide a moment of unexpectedness that creates a distinctive silhouette as well as a comfortable place to rest an arm or head. Special attention was paid to both the proportion and subtle stitch details to ensure the collection looks as good up close as it does from across the room. Multi-layered foam cushions provide the best of both worlds: a soft yet supportive seat that is a comfortable place to sit or lounge.
Both collections were launched at NeoCon 2019 this week, the world’s leading platform for the commercial design industry.
