The master plan for these equestrian teaching and research facilities includes two large covered arenas. The first is connected to the equine science horse training courses, is designed as a multipurpose riding arena and will be used for polo, riding instruction and competition. The second will provide an additional teaching space that will also accommodate polo, riding instruction and competition. Two new barns are designed for the expansion and growth of equine reproduction research at Cal Poly. These include a stallion barn, a large vet exam and work room, a new foaling barn and a lounge area for students. This facility includes a USDA-approved lab for collecting and exporting frozen semen.
