Paul Reed

Paul is a Newcastle-based Architect with a career spanning over twenty years, including multiple training facilities, stadiums, arenas, and community leisure facilities.
He has extensive experience of leading design teams from feasibility through to completion, improving design quality and outputs across all RIBA stages.
During his time with Populous, projects Paul has worked on include the O2 Arena, Groupama Stadium (Olympique Lyonnais), Leeds Arena and the 2012 Olympic stadium (now London Stadium).
His other notable work includes the role of Lead Architect for the Manchester City Football Academy. He also has extensive experience in the Sports and Leisure Sector within the UK, including driving forward the key aims for the sector, leading on large scale facility design and coaching other team members.
Paul believes the key to good architecture is in simplicity of form and function, through a strongly interrogated design process. He also practices true sustainable design, placing emphasis on environmental, economic and social sustainability – his strong belief is there’s no point designing the most environmentally sustainable buildings in the world if nobody is able to enjoy the experience.
