Five Can’t-Miss Elements of SunTrust Park

April 13, 2017

  1. Brews and Bites

Ballparks are sometimes measured by how well their food and drink offering stacks up. In this area, SunTrust Park packs a delicious punch. Look no further than right field, where the three-story Coors Light Chop House and Terrapin Taproom cover all the beer lover’s bases. The latter will have exclusive ales and lagers brewed on-site by Georgia favorite Terrapin Beer Co, while the former features first-of-their-kind refrigerated drink rails to keep your Coors Light from ‘losing its chill.’

2. Cool Seats

Speaking of chill, two other SunTrust Park elements were designed to help fans keep their cool during steamy Atlanta summers. Major League Baseball’s largest canopy, three times bigger than most, protects a majority of the ballpark’s 41,000 seats from the elements. Certain seats in the lower level, meanwhile, have breezy mesh backs and bottoms, a first in the big leagues.

3. Hope and Will’s Sandlot

Restless Braves fans of the younger variety can spend their energy at Hope and Will’s Sandlot, an expansive kid-friendly zone beyond center field. Part of a multi-year partnership with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the ‘Sandlot’ features the first-ever zip line and climbing tower inside a professional sporting venue.

4. Monument Garden

Nestled near the 3rd base entrance, this interactive space chronicles the Braves’ greatest moments and players. The Braves organization has no shortage of history to tell as Major League Baseball’s longest continuous franchise.

5. The Plaza

Sure, The Plaza isn’t technically inside SunTrust Park, but that’s the point. It serves as a link to the larger Battery Atlanta development. Head there to meet up with friends or grab a drink at the Terrapin Taproom before the gates open.
