As a project designer with Populous, Michael is an integral part of the practice. He is actively involved in all phases of design, production and presentation for public assembly projects and has focused his expertise on convention centers. As a project designer, Michael provides design leadership and coordinates with client representatives to reach design goals.

Michael has taken on many unique design projects. Most recently he was the lead designer for the Qatar National Convention Center Expansion in Doha, Qatar. He was also a primary designer on the new Phoenix convention Center and was part of the team that designed the Peoria Civic Center expansion project in Illinois. Michael Lockwood was selected as one of Engineering News-Record Midwest’s Top 20 Under 40 for 2013.
