Ben Dawson
Principal, Head of Aviation – APAC / Singapore
Ben has over ten years’ experience leading teams to design and deliver large scale, complex projects. He has led numerous aviation projects for Populous including two major airports in France, as well as the large $700 million upgrade of Kansai Airport near Osaka, Japan and Clark Airport in the Philippines which opened in mid 2022 and has already been nominated in the Prix Versailles Awards.
Ben has extensive onsite experience, particularly in South East Asia, and has an interest in marrying vernacular design with modern architecture and the latest in sustainable materials and technologies. His passion lies in creating buildings which have international appeal but also nod towards their context.
Ben joined Populous in 2015 and was initially based in Kuala Lumpur to oversee the design and construction of Phase 1 of the KL Sports City, a world class sports and entertainment hub, which was designed for its local community and completed in time to host the SEA Games in 2017.
Ben is an expert user of Revit and possesses a holistic understanding of BIM.
