Southend United, in the south East of England, are planning a new 22,000-capacity all-seater stadium, sited at Fossett’s Farm. The site and stadium itself are to be shared with other commercial activity including a hotel, retail units, conferencing facilities and residential unites will contribute to the vibrancy of the site.

The stadium requirement is born from the clubs need to renew their current ground with a new Stadium with improved capacity and player/spectator facilities. Southend's ongoing success and playing in the higher leagues demands greater spectator capacity and quality. Moving to a new site will allow the club a relatively simple move between seasons, it will allow the club to improve its surroundings and will liberate its existing site for improvement.
