Texas A&M Coolidge Football Performance Center

The Coolidge Football Performance Center represents a transformative expansion of Texas A&M’s football infrastructure and elevates the program’s competitive capabilities with one of the most advanced indoor practice facilities in collegiate athletics. As part of the university’s broader Centennial Campaign, this facility supports year-round practice, performance training, sports medicine and team development in a climate-controlled environment.

Populous provided architectural design leadership for the Coolidge Center, applying its deep expertise in athletic and collegiate facilities to deliver a high-performance venue.

Key features include a 132,000-square-foot climate-controlled space that accommodates full-speed team practice on a 160-yard playing surface, with extended buffer run-offs designed for athlete safety and performance; custom Schweiss Doors liftstrap bifold door connects the indoor field to adjacent 140-yard outdoor practice fields, enabling efficient transitions between training environments; dedicated zones for sports medicine, strength & conditioning, performance analytics, and training support, all within the performance center envelope.

The design ensured the facility met rigorous performance standards while integrating intimately with the existing Graham Athletic Complex and outdoor practice fields.

The Coolidge Football Performance Center is a cornerstone for Texas A&M’s football excellence strategy. By offering a year-round, state-of-the-art practice environment, the facility enhances player development, bolsters competitive readiness, and strengthens the university’s position in recruiting top-tier talent.

This project was delivered as part of a larger $120 million Centennial Campaign, which also included the construction of an indoor track stadium, the Adam C. Sinn Academic & Wellness Center, and enhancements to the Bright-Slocum football complex.
