He was also involved with bids including the Hong Kong 2006 Asian Games, and Olympic bids for Toronto, Buenos Aires, Paris, and Australia’s FIFA World Cup 2022 bid. As Infrastructure Manager for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, George guided the project from bid stage through to post-Games wrap up.
More recently, George has served as Project Manager for the Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong and advised the Victorian Government on the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games. In 2024, he also spent six months in India supporting preliminary planning for a potential Ahmedabad 2036 Olympic bid.
Following the announcement of Brisbane to host the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, George has been involved with various strategic planning stages and reviews, to support the government in preparing for the Games. Most recently, he has also been involved with a motor racing circuit masterplan in Perth, WA, and a multi-venue sports park in Vietnam.
George is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP)®, combining architectural training with strong delivery and coordination skills to lead complex, multi-stakeholder projects at the highest level.
