Populous’ Gabe Braselton joined Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 Class of 2020. Each year SBJ’s Forty Under 40 award recognizes talented and accomplished individuals who have made significant contributions within the sports industry. Braselton was honored for his impact on major NHL, NBA and civic arena design over his 15 years at Populous.

As a Senior Architect and Principal, Braselton has led the design for more than $3 billion worth of Populous work, including Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum, Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena and Quebec’s Videotron Centre. His designs feature a more open concept bowl that better accommodates a variety of entertainment, thus increasing the fan experience in multi-purpose venues.

“Gabe has been instrumental in delivering iconic venues that capture the spirit and emotion of their communities,” said Senior Principal Brad Clark. “His vision has shaped arena design over the past 15 years and created unforgettable experiences for millions of fans. He could not be more deserving of this honor.”

Braselton joins Senior Principal Scott Radecic and Managing Director Bruce Miller, who were honored by Sports Business Journal in their Forty Under 40 Class’ in 2001 and 2003 respectively.

Last month Architect and Associate Megan Rand was also honored by Sports Business Journal as she was named to the inaugural class of 30 New Voices Under 30, which recognizes the next generation of leaders in sports business who are reimagining the sports experience and the way business is done.
