Megan Ashfield
Megan is a Senior Principal whose extensive portfolio of work ranges from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Wembley Stadium, the London Olympic Stadium and its transformation in 2016 to become the home of West Ham United FC, AELTC Wimbledon Centre Court redevelopments, and Co-op Live.
Since university study, Megan’s interest has been the detailed design of large-scale entertainment destinations – from competitor and performer requirements, the spectator and audience experience, and the essential back of house processes enabling the effective staging of major events. Megan joined Populous in 1990, working on projects in Europe and Australia which showcase the relationship between a venue’s functional requirements and how people use, enjoy, and respond to their event environment.
Megan was part of the project lead design team for Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, overseeing the concept design through to site delivery of the key concourse areas for 52,000 GA spectators. Heightening fan experience was integral to this project, and Megan worked on an array of innovative amenities for the stadium such as a micro-brewery and marketplace food hall, bringing spectator comfort to a new standard. For Co-op Live, Megan was part of the core design team developing a creative array of spaces, facilities and interior concepts to enhance the arena experience throughout the project’s developmental journey, from concept through to construction starting on site.
