Audi Field

Washington, District of Columbia, United States

The soccer-specific home of D.C. United offers a textbook example of urban design. The venue’s 8.5-acre site is among the tightest in MLS, however, it is anchored by one of the city’s most ambitious redevelopment projects, Buzzard Point. As one of 10 original charter MLS franchises, the team has recently experienced a rebirth of its own. The new stadium is the exclamation point on that process, as well as a case study on how our design process doesn’t stop where our project’s boundaries end.

Audi Field is LEED Gold Certified and is partnered with Recycle Track Systems and New Columbia Solar in an effort to create a more sustainable facility through initiatives such as food waste composting, recycling and staff training. The stadium also features stormwater drainage systems, waterless urinals and a LED-powered pregame light show.
