Truist Park

Atlanta, United States
Fan expectations of the live experience are putting increasing emphasis on time spent before and after the game itself. With that in mind, we designed the new home of the Atlanta Braves to be an authentically Southern destination that offers something for everyone and ample reasons to linger.

Truist Park forms the centerpiece of the wider Battery Atlanta development, a new neighborhood 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta. It’s a destination in itself, with 60 bars, restaurants, shopping precincts, hotels and a 3600-seat Live Nation concert hall. Populous worked closely with the master planners of the development to ensure that the ballpark would integrate seamlessly with the buildings surrounding it, creating a fan experience that has never been seen in baseball before.

Community is everything at Truist Park, which caters to both small and large groups. The ballpark was designed to appeal to every kind of baseball fan, ranging from hardcore Braves devotees to casual fans wanting to hang out with friends on a sunny day. Truist Park weaves together the comforts of traditional Southern hospitality with modern technologies to create a fan experience unlike any other. From the Coors Light Chop House to the Xfinity Lounge’s rooftop patio to the first zipline and climbing tower in a major league ballpark, there’s something for every generation of fan.

Up top, the largest canopy in the big leagues protects the crowd from the elements, while reflecting their cheers back down to the field for a more intense atmosphere. Seats in the lower level feature mesh bottoms and backs to increase airflow and keep fans cool and comfortable during the game. Truist Park’s three overlapping seating decks give fans the sensation of being right on top of the action, with views of the field that are second-to-none.

Truist Park sets the bar for Southern hospitality and for the next generation of MLB ballparks. The Braves’ revenue jumped 69% after two years of calling Truist Park home, illustrating its role as a dynamic economic engine for Atlanta and for the sport of baseball.

The ballpark itself is beautiful, but the scope of the project around it, I really think is the future for baseball. The most exciting thing for me is seeing the number of fans here really early and enjoying the place for a full day.

In 2021, the Braves won the World Series for the first time in 26 years. The deciding game was played in Houston but thousands of fans still gathered at Truist Park to watch their team’s victory on the big screen and celebrate along the concourses afterwards — a real sign that this new ballpark feels like their home.
