Populous is proud to be recognized as a Certified Healthy KC Organization by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, receiving a Silver ranking. Through numerous health and wellness programs and a nearly completed on-site gym, Populous recognizes the benefits of physical and mental health and overall wellness in creating a more engaged and happy workplace.

“Populous prides itself on the quality of the individual people who make up our firm around the world. Successful projects begin with successful people and Populous prioritizes the overall health and wellness of our employees,” said Earl Santee, Populous America’s Managing Director. “The quality of one’s life is directly reflected in their quality of work, and giving our employees the opportunity to increase their physical and mental health is a gift in itself.”

Healthy KC is an initiative launched by the Greater Khealthykc-certified-2016-silveransas City Chamber of Commerce and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, in collaboration with more than 100 area health and wellness organizations, businesses, government, and other sectors. The workplace wellness effort is one of five areas of focus for Healthy KC, along with active living, behavioral health, healthy eating, and tobacco use prevention and cessation.

The certification is based on four ‘pillars’ of health: nutrition, physical activity, tobacco cessation, and work/life integration. There are four levels of certification, based on a company’s level of achievement across the four pillars – Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Honorable Mention.

We will be 3 weeks in Certona – before some shopping in Florence, a stay at the beach and a few days in Orbatello Scala. This year I went to the Osteria Merlot in Certona – absolutely the best food experience I had in Italy.Eating out is a bit of a problem here in Cape Town still as many places don’t have vegetarian menus and go with the “Oh, order the salad” or my personal best “We do vegetarian, there is a very nice chicken salad on the me#28n&u21;!!
