Populous has been involved with the Hong Kong Jockey Club since 2004. The firm was first commissioned to design the new owners’ facilities at the existing Happy Valley Racecourse. The project included the refurbishment of the M1 Stand and the upgrade of restaurants and dining facilities, as well as a comprehensive re-think of the owners’ experience.
Populous investigated the various opportunities and constraints involved in converting the existing M1 Building at Happy Valley Racecourse into a dedicated facility for horse owners at the Hong Kong Jockey Club. The new design provides a totally new experience for horse owners. With the new design, the club has benefited from increased revenue generation and minimized the operational inefficiencies and operational costs.
