Intrust Bank Arena

Designed to reflect the heritage of downtown Wichita, Intrust Bank Arena’s brick and limestone facade ties to the unique character of surrounding neighborhoods and the adjacent Old Town entertainment district. An extensive public process was used to gain consensus on a design direction. The design team developed and presented to the public four site options and three conceptual design approaches. The options were ranked by citizens and a desired solution was selected. The 15,000 seat multipurpose facility opened in January 2010, several months ahead of schedule. Populous was a member of the Arena Design Consortium, which included local architectural partners WDM Architects, Gossen Livingston Associates and McCluggage VanSickle and Perry.
