University of Utah Huntsman Basketball Center

Located adjacent to the Jon M. Huntsman Center, a 15,000-seat arena, the three-story Huntsman Basketball Center is a state-of-the-art, $36-million and 101,000-square-foot structure that serves as a centralized home base for the university’s men’s and women’s teams. It also provides upgrades and new support facilities for the Olympic sport programs by way of athletic training, strength training and equipment. The facility incorporates the history of the basketball programs and reflects the unique needs — both academic and athletic — of the teams who use the space. Shortly after its opening, women’s basketball coach Lynne Roberts remarked, “We’ve been able to walk recruits through it already and they are picking their chin off of the ground the entire time.”
